You can’t make this shit up. Earlier this week a spyware vendor, named the Hacking Team, was hacked.
They build tools to help authorities monitor people through phones and computers. Their current/past clients include the US FBI, and the governments of Sudan and Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia. As the saying goes, good enough for government work.
Since online security is almost completely offense, it’s hard for even a spyware vendor to protect themself.
